Back to Back Backyard Music

So I just came off a weekend where there was beautiful live music in three different  backyards three nights in a row.

Heavenly, really.  Because it also involved so many of my favourite people and snacks and sitting in the warm evening air visiting and watching the sun set while listening to good friends serenade us.

The first was Lisa's Birthday Party with a whole bunch of amazing musicians filling the night air with some groovy tunes backed by Graham on his big bass cello thingy.  Sherri, Andrew, Jamie, Norm... outstanding talent honouring dear Lisa as she bravely turned her back on her illness and chose to celebrate life.

Saturday night was my backyard with Chinua Ford singing under the apple trees while the sky turned yellow and pink and then dark highlighting the layers of mountains in the distance.

As the sky darkened he played and sang some gorgeous tunes while the candles flickered at his feet and children laughed and played and ran through the fields behind him.

It was magical.

He sang on and on at our request and we even had some dancing under the stars.

And then last night we met in the Metcalf's backyard where Ari regaled us with his unique style, pounding the box he stood on with his feet while the bells on his calves jingled in time.  We even had some faceless guests behind the fence confessing that they couldn't believe ARI was playing in their BACKYARD and that they had stalked him in Penticton.

Music under the super moon to finish off the weekend in style!
