December Delights

How precious is family.
Gatherings around tables laden with food and surrounded by familiar kindness.
Sweet Tante Hilda prepared another feast and we celebrated togetherness once again.
Such privilege.

Marcia arranged for us to have a winter's night out at the theatre so we took in a locally focused production of "The Christmas Carol".

It's always special to do things together as siblings and I am beyond grateful to have such an incredible "team" to do family with.
The four of us also went out for a delicious dinner of burgers followed by a movie called "Wonder".
Marcia and I also did a bit of "thrifting".

December was truly a month of delights...

Nicole showed up at my house and we had fun making shortbread cookies together.

Decorating proved to be a little more difficult than we had envisioned, but the results were delicious and entertaining to behold.

Check out our edible artwork!

Daniel arrived with Patrice a week or so later after exams and work were finished for them.

Daniel decided to make some special gifts for the family this year.
There's not a lot of extra money with school fees piling up but there are ways to be creative.
Delicious loaves of sourdough bread made the house smell scrumptious!

So cool that Daniel grew up watching both of his grandmother's baking bread and now he is keeping the tradition alive and giving them some of his handmade goodness.

In preparation for Christmas I decided to get Mom to the hairdresser and at the last minute we decided to switch from a "wash & set" to a perm!
Mom looks so nice with a head full of curls again.
All ready for Christmas!

And I am managing to share the house with this beautiful family.
Patrice sleeps with me and Daniel and Nicole have the guest room.
There's plenty of room and God loves to see us learn to live in unity.
It's happening!

Lots of Carol singing and music making are filling this house with joy.

And Patrice is taking her favourite puppies for walks in the snow.

Ahhh, home for the holidays.
My heart is full.
