Wilkommen!

The trip was lovely and in a matter of hours we were delighted to find ourselves in a beautiful Bavarian village without ever having to board a plane or spend the big bucks!

We got settled into our cozy rooms and headed into town to do some exploring.

Everything was within walking/wheeling distance which was perfect for me!

Happy campers, indeed!

So much to see so we happily went a-wandering until our appetites drove us to chose one of the many fun eating establishments.

Since we were in Bavaria we celebrated with Bratwurst and pretzels at the Munchen Haus.

We ate outside with the wonderful warm sun making it feel like a picnic.

Now, in hindsight, I can't believe I didn't go back for another pretzel...
Seriously good German fare.

Dessert was Gelato, conveniently found on our way back to the hotel.

This big furry fellow was seated just outside the Gelato store.

He's obviously had a few too many servings...

We were so grateful for the great weather and for the spectacular scenery.
Such cute decor and attention to detail culminated in a fine Bavarian experience without the hassle of flying over the ocean and adjusting to language barriers.

In the evening we played cards while listening to someone play the grand piano down below while we sat in a well appointed second floor living room.

And bedtime looked like this.

The beds were fluffy with big feather pillows and comforters.
Kind of like sleeping on a cloud.

Breakfast was an experience that I wouldn't mind repeating every day for the rest of my life.

And I don't even really like breakfast, so that is saying something!

Custom made omelettes, all sorts of hot dishes, fruit with dip, drinks and an assortment of pastry and other baked goods that were absolutely tantalizing.
The danish pastries filled with Bavarian creme were my favourite!
Little delectable volcanoes...

To top of an already extremely fabulous culinary experience, we were treated to this:

A man clad in real leder hosen played an alpen horn out on the deck, serenading us as we munched on our memorable meal while looking at this view.

We were all thinking we'd like to do this again.
And again.

And there was evening and there was morning.
The second day was at hand...
