Embracing this Season

Seasons come and seasons go...
My favourite summer warmth is ebbing away and the crisp beauty of autumn has arrived.
School is starting up again and this crowd that was so recently in grade school are now pursuing all sorts of graduate studies.
Ryan is following his sweetheart to Victoria and thankfully Sue was able to pull together a wonderful farewell dinner despite the fact that she is immersed in a new job and trying to cope with Sara's healing from a bad concussion.
To aid in keeping the peace of Sue's home while Sara recovers, we brought home their budgie for a short or long stay.
We're not sure yet.

It's kind of like having a television in the living room for the dogs.
They are mesmerized.
A squeaky toy just out of reach in a cage...
Yikes.

And I just adore the sounds this sweet little blue birdie makes!
Sue diligently clipped the wings before sending Tweety home with us but there is still a lot of flying happening.  Here he is enjoying some of the artwork in our home.  I am nervous that he will add his own special touches to the canvases so we try to limit his art appreciation time.
Thankfully he always comes home to roost and Patrice puts him back in his cage so that the doggies don't have a chance to  fully embrace their hunting instinct.

School prep is also in order for me.
Arts and crafts have definitely become a challenge with these arthritic hands but the new vowel chart came together and is ready for school.

This was my view out of my office window today.

I am completely happy with my new setup and spent a long time preparing new forms for the reading program today.

This beautiful part of autumn never gets old for me.
Apples in great abundance.

Hanging off the trees like decorative baubles or collecting in the giant red bins waiting for pickup.
The smell is over the top amazing.
