We caught an afternoon train to Bad Blankenburg which provided hours of mesmerizing scenery out of huge windows as we sat in comfortable seats.
It was far less busy and therefore easier to navigate this part of the journey.
The canola fields were in blossom creating a stunning landscape of golden color. We passed through many villages and cities on our 6 hour trip and once again the scenery was outstanding. The landscape changed from flat farmland to rolling hills with gorgeous green forests interspersed with farms and villages.
Train travel definitely has it's advantages as everyone can sit back and relax once you have finally boarded. There were delays which lengthened the journey in one way, but as a result we ended up getting picked up by a kind YWAM soul in the city of Erfurt which saved us getting on and off two extra trains.
So that was all good.
We arrived in the dark of night but our sweet YWAM hostess Suse greeted us and was thrilled when I gave my blessing of perfection to the state of the art bathroom that was built specifically with me in mind!
Suse had to come in a check it out with me and I was blown away by the fine workmanship and enough safety bars to hold up several people all at the same time. There were even bars located on either side of the sink!
We were exhausted but thrilled to be together again. Dear little Suse has been run off her feet preparing for the European YWAM DNA conference slated for the following week. This precious woman has faith to move mountains and to create bathrooms where there are not bathrooms, even at the cost of 6000 Euros.
The building was owned by her parents and was a printing press for Bibles in the early 1900's.
During the communist occupation they tried to remove the lettering over the door of the building that states "Holy Unto the Lord".
As it was, it never happened and now the building is full of refugee ministry, YWAM schools and soon there will be a WBH school sending the Word forth by truth tellers... What a marvellous legacy.
I was invited to come back in July as staff for the WBH school but I'm not quite sure I have the energy, but I'm asking God about it.
Since there is a bathroom, a ramp AND an elevator.
